Most homes have hot water cylinders which are used to supply the home with heating and hot water solutions. Some of our customers integrate their hot water cylinders with renewable energy sources such as heat pumps and solar thermal. As a result, this allows a more efficient and economic heating solution.
Joule supply direct unvented cylinders, horizontal cylinders, indirect cylinders and unvented cylinders to name a few. We offer a wide range of hot water cylinders to our customers such as direct unvented cylinders and many more. However these are just a few examples of our complete Cyclone hot water cylinder range.
At Joule we believe our cylinders are of superior quality to most other cylinders on the market today. In the heating and hot water solutions industry we are one of the country’s leading manufacturers. We manufacture to the highest level for our customers. When manufacturing our cylinders we have a code that we abide by. Following our steps with each cylinder we manufacture allows us to assure our customers that we have excellence every time.
Our superior quality starts with our raw materials. Operating a total quality management system, we ensure that raw materials of the highest quality are used in our cylinders. It sounds simple but a zero dirt policy on the production floor ensures that no foreign debris enters the metal at any stage. We do not use machines for multiple types of metal. Copper cylinders are handled using totally separate machines than stainless ensuring that there is no cross contamination.
We don’t just butt weld the seam and the domes we also butt weld the fittings and the coils. Most manufacturers skip this as it slows down the process. Some don’t bother butt welding any part of the hot water cylinder at all. Others do the seam and the domes but few do all the fittings and coils also.
Other manufacturers would have you believe that corrugated 0.4mm thick coils are better coils, however this is not the case. At Joule we still use 1mm smooth tube coils with longer lengths providing the same surface area as corrugated coils. The coil facing away from itself at all times emits heat better, unlike corrugated coil. Therefore as a result, with a thicker, smoother coil we ensure a longer life span on our hot water cylinder.
This process treats the metal post welding to ensure that it has it’s durable long life coat. This process is not done by all manufacturers, and the ones that do this process do not all take the correct amount of time submersing the chemical. If the cylinder is only rinsed with the chemical or dipped in and out of a bath of the chemical then consequently it will not have the time needed to work on retreating the metal.
At Joule all our hot water cylinders are robotically placed in the treatment tank. The cylinders are held there for a programmed time period before being transferred to the next bath. Our hot water cylinders are more durable resulting in a longer life cylinder.
A question we get asked all the time, along with Copper or Stainless is “Which cylinder do I need?” As a result, our team offer their experience to customers on which hot water cylinders are right for them. Without knowing the details of the application in hand it would be hard to lock down the perfect hot water cylinder. However, we can point you in the right direction. We’ve an extensive range of cylinders available.
Within Joule hot water cylinders we have a few key features. We have a single high recovery coil, bevelled stat pocket for better fitting and pre-plugged secondary tapping resulting in easy installation. All key parts are concealed within a sleek metallic grey stainless steel casing. This allows us to keep our premium consistency throughout.
Our direct cylinders use heat sources that are located within the cylinder, similar to immersion heaters, that heat the water. Joule’s direct cylinders are often located in either flats or apartments where there is no access to gas. Direct cylinders are supplied with 3kw Incoloy immersions fitted as standard with the option of Titanium and 6kw immersion. All our cylinders are manufactured with the same quality and performance built with branded quality components.
We have designed our Cyclone range of hot water cylinders to work with any solar system. Twin solar cylinders are manufactured with 9mm sensor pockets for the solar controller. This ensures that our solar systems perform at their optimum level.
For heat pump ready cylinders our coil quality sets us apart. No other coil type on the market today offers the same transfer rate as our smooth as stainless tube. Our high gain hot water cylinders have been manufactured with a single high recovery coil in coil. We have constructed this key part to be smooth for durability and performance.
The Joule Cyclone high gain solar range of cylinders uses high recovery smooth tube coils for optimal performance. No other coil type on the market today offers the same transfer rate as smooth stainless tube.
Our range of Cyclone Air unvented cylinders are manufactured with quality and precision to the fore. The internal expansion results in a neat installation. The pre-plumbed cold feed we assembly ensures consistency and quality every time.
Joule SmartPlumb hot water cylinders are next generation in pre-plumbed hot water solutions. We manufacture our SmartPlumb with a sleek design to belong in today’s market. We have reduced dramatically the architecture space requirements for the SmartPlumb hot water cylinder. The SmartPlumb indirect offers customers a shorter installation time to fit the hot water cylinder compared to a standard cylinder.
Direct cylinders are available in capacities from 100 to 3,000 litres with different immersion sizes, material construction and power outputs. We manufacture our hot water cylinders from superior grade stainless steel only. In addition, we wrap an elegant metallic steel casing to ensure durability and to keep our premium appearance. When customers have specific specifications we can manufacture our cylinders to meet their needs.
Our range of Joule Cyclone slimline indirect cylinders are designed for the use in tight areas. Where there is more height than width available, it can be challenging to find the right solution. We manufacture our slimline range to meet the demands of our customers.
Slimline direct hot water cylinders use heat sources that are located within the cylinder, similar to an immersion heater. We have designed the Joule Cyclone slimline direct cylinders where there is more height than width available.
The Cyclone Air Unvented range of cylinders are manufactured with quality and precision. The internal expansion provides a neat installation. The pre-plumbed cold feed assembly ensure consistency and quality every time. The Cyclone Air brand signifies the next generation of hot water cylinder development.
The Joule Cyclone thermal store 2.0 is the ideal solution for multi energy applications. Domestic hot water is produced through the fresh water module mounted on the front of our cylinder. This results in far superior flow rates compared to the internal coil version. In addition the cylinder has a number of direct connections to allow for multiple heat source and zoning integration. Most importantly we manufacture our cylinders from stainless steel and we maintain our high quality specification you see across the Cyclone range.
Our Horizontal range of cylinders come with cradles that are not only included but pre-fitted. They can be easily removed if the hot water cylinder needs to squeeze through a tight access hatch.
